Dry Port and Railways Station at Garri Free Zone Inaugurated

 

Khartoum, Nov. 20 (SUNA) - The Minister of Transport, Roads and Bridges, Philip Thon Lek, and the State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Al-Saddiq Mohamed Ali, Thursday inaugurated the Dry Port and the railways station at Garri Free Zone. Addressing a celebration organized by Sudan Railways and the Sudanese Company for Free Zones and Markets in Garri, Lek said the inauguration of Garri Free Zone and the railways station was a major accomplishment of the national unity government and encouraging to the public and private transport corporations toward boosting the development process in the country. He said that the railways will contribute greatly to the trade activity in the country, stressing the importance of the rehabilitation of Sudan Railways Corporation. The State Minister at the Ministry of Finance, Dr. Al-Saddiq Mohamed Ali, said that Garri Dry Port will be attractive place for the imports and exports, asserting the importance of roads and transport means in supporting the implementation of economic projects. The Commissioner of Khartoum North Locality, Siddiq Mohamed Ali Al-Sheikh, appreciated the establishment of Garri Dry Port which came through smart partnership between Sudan Railways Corporation and the Sudanese Free Zones and Markets Company. The General Director of Sudan Railways Corporation, Engineer Hamza Al-Fadlabi, said that Garri Dry Port and the railways station will provide a best level of transport services. MO/MO
