Dr Mustafa Osman criticizes the silence of the United Nations and the superpowers towards the operations carried by Khalil Ibrahim in North Darfur
Khartoum, May 8 (SUNA) - The Advisor of the President of the Republic, and Secretary of the Foreign Relations in the National Congress, Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail, on Thursday strongly criticized the silence of the United Nations and the superpowers for their silence towards the criminal military operations carried by the rebel Khalil Ibrahim in north Darfur and the some areas in North Kordufan. Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail pointed out that Sudan has been used to this double standards from those quarters. He told the Sudan News Agency that those same voices who now keep mum will come out vocally whenever the Sudanese Armed Forces respond to those criminal activities that are undertaken by Khalil Ibrahim. He wondered as to where those Human Rights Organizations are and where are the so called save Darfur organizations with regard to the activities of rebel Khalil that included displacement of civilians and destructions of private and public property. Dr Mustafa Osman appealed to all parties that uphold Darfur's interests to denounce those activities that would not serve peace , saying people should raise the banner of halting the conflict and resorting to dialogue for achieve peace in Darfur.
