Dr. Ismail: Renewal of residence permit of Abdel-Wahid comes in the context of the French policy towards Darfur issue
Khartoum, May 7 (SUNA)- Presidential Adviser Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail has described France's renewal of residence permit of Abdel-Wahid Mohamed Nur, the chairman of Sudan Liberation Movement, which did not sign Abuja peace agreement, despite the French government promise to reconsider the matter as coming in the context of the marked French policy towards Darfur issue in the last period, referring in this connection to France's pardoning of the members of the organization that abducted children from Darfur recently. Dr. Ismail said France speaks about peace in Darfur and at the same time refrains from directing a clear message to Abdel-Wahid urging him to join the peace process. Responding to a question by SUNA on Abdel-Wahid's declaration of his rejection to the British initiative, Dr. Ismail said this was not strange from Abdel-Wahid who remained rejecting every thing and that they and even his movement itself did not know what he wanted.
