Deputy Chairperson of AU Commission says Forum of People of Sudan strong basis for solving Darfur problem
Khartoum, Nov. 12 (SUNA) - The Deputy Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Erastus Mwencha, expressed his confidence that the National Forum of the People of the Sudan for Solving Darfur Problem would be strong foundation for the peaceful solution of Darfur problem. Mr. Mwencha said in his statement during the concluding session of the Forum at the Friendship Hall in Khartoum Wednesday that the forum is a golden opportunity for solving all the issues of Sudan, affirming the capability of the Sudanese people to solve their issues by themselves. Mr. Mwencha further affirmed the support of the African Union to the efforts of peace and development in Sudan. Meanwhile the Deputy Chairperson of the AU Commission commended the normalization of relations between Sudan and Chad, saying that having normal relations between Sudan and Chad would contribute to the peace and stability of the two countries and the whole region. Mr. Mwencha further congratulated the President of the Republic and people of Sudan on the success of the Forum of the People of the Sudan for Solving Darfur Problem. MF/ BT
