Completion of implementation of first phase of Water Harvesting Projects
Khartoum, Nov. 30 (SUNA) - Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Eng. Kamal Ali Mohamed and the Secretary General of the Agricultural Development Programme, Dr. Abdel-Jabbar Hussein, have presided over the plenary meeting which included the Ministers of Physical Planning and Water Administrators in Sudan states. The meeting reviewed the performance in the implementation of projects of water harvesting of 2008 where the first phase was completed before the rainy season. A plan for implementing projects of water harvesting in 2009 was also mapped out. Ministers of the states affirmed that the dams which were previously established are now contributing in the provision of water for people and animals effectively and helped in the stability of the herdsmen a matter that reaffirms the importance of water harvesting in boosting the agricultural development.
