Animal Zoo to be Inaugurated in Eastern of the Nile Locality

 

Khartoum, Dec. 5 (SUNA)- The tentative operation of Animal Zoo in Hilat-Koko, Khartoum North, will begin in the third day of Eid Al-Adha, prior to opening the zoo officially early next year 2009. Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Production at University of Sudan, Dr. Intisar Yousif Turki, said that the zoo was established through cooperation between the University of Sudan and Eastern of the Nile Locality. She said that the zoo would include 20 varieties of rare animals. Dr. Intisar indicated that the Zoo in Hilat-Koko will include lions, tigers, ostriches, monkeys and several kinds of birds. The Director of Planning at Eastern of the Nile Locality, Abul-Gasim Abdalla Abu-Ras, said that the zoo was established at an area of around 200 feddans (acres). MO/MO
