President Al-Bashir: Ocampo's allegations will not prevent Sudan from pressing ahead in the track of development
Al-Fashir, July 23 (SUNA) - President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, affirmed that the allegations of the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Ocampo, would not prevent the Government from pressing ahead in the tracks of development, services as well as the initiatives for solving the issue of Darfur. Addressing Wednesday a huge mass rally in Al-Fashir, capital of North Darfur State, as part of his tour in the three States of Darfur, the President said the forces behind Ocampo are seeking at retreat of the Sudan whenever it moves forward. He explained that the hostile forces are not pleased with the government's achievements constituted in the consensus over the Elections Act and solving the issue of Abyei. The President referred to the efforts being exerted by the government to achieve peace, saying that the Comprehensive Peace Agreement is the greatest achievement after Independence of Sudan. The President further pointed to the points and principles he presented during the anniversary celebration of the Salvation Revolution recently to solve the issue of Darfur including boosting security, repatriation of the refugees and the internally displaced persons, reconstruction, development and providing services and calling for involvement of the political parties. He explained that when the government made the above proposals there were no allegations of Ocampo, affirming sincere pursuit for peace and stability all over Sudan. Meanwhile, President Al-Bashir hailed the supporting stances of the Arab and African countries and the countries of the Non-Aligned Movement as well as all the free people in the world who knew that such allegations conspiracy and targeting of Sudan and its resources. The President explained that the enemies of Sudan meant to intimidate the Sudanese people who do not fear any one except the Almighty Allah. President Al-Bashir also referred to the ancient history, traditions and Sultans of Darfur. The President further pointed out to the repatriation of some 1000 families from IDP camps to their home villages Wednesday, pledging to provide them with security, services, education, and water as well as establishing justice. The President also affirmed continuity of strive to achieve development, complete the Western Salvation Highway, make use of the resources and minerals, increase number of schools and universities, link Darfur and Port Sudan by roads, include Darfur in the national electricity network and to make available water resources and to enhance the agriculture projects in Darfur.
