African Fact-Finding Committee of Sudanese - Chadian Relations to begin Work Monday

 

Khartoum, Nov. 2 (SUNA) - The fact-finding committee of the African Union for relations between Sudan and Chad, headed by the former President of Burundi, will begin Monday its mission in Sudan, said the Director of the African Union Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Ibrahim Ahmed Abdul-Karim. He said that the committee's visit to Sudan comes in implementation of a decision of Sharm Al-Sheikh Summit concerning fact-finding on the Sudanese - Chadian relations, indicating that the committee will meet with a number of Sudanese officials. Dr. Abdul-Karim said that the fact-finding committee will discuss ways to avoid disputes between Sudan and Chad and realizing cordial relations between them. The fact-finding committee's delegation includes three former Foreign Ministers of Nigeria, Mauritania and Burkina Faso. The delegation will visit Darfur and meet with a number of officials. MO/MO
