Acting Secretary-General of Red Crescent says the Society ready for coming rainy season
Khartoum, May 8 (SUNA)- The Sudanese Red Crescent Society announced that 400 thousands volunteers all over the states of the country are ready to confront any possible flood during the coming rainy season, besides provision of strategic reserve of materials and equipment to ward off impacts of flooding. This was announced by the acting Secretary-General of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society, Mustafa Mohamed Osman when he addressed Thursday the World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day celebrations in Khartoum, which was organized by the Sudanese Red Crescent Society in collaboration with the International Movement of the Red Cross and Red Crescent. Osman revealed that the Society is working to include new partners such as the private sector, UN agencies and civil society organizations for cooperation to provide humanitarian aid for affected people, referring to efforts being exerted by the Sudanese Red Crescent Society in the fields of training and increasing the capabilities of volunteers.
