WHEN I THINK OF YOU

When I think of you,
I think of the New Sudan
Of hopes, and dreams.
That have just begun

When I think of you,
I see your gentle grin.
The one that happens,
When the marginalized score a win.

When I think of you,
Always patient, Always full of vision.
I know your love for the land,
Is the forever kind!

When I think of you,
And your love for the New Sudan.
I know that heaven,
Will help your people reach the Promised Land.

When I think of you,
I think of Orphans and Widows
The very people,
Whose dreams and hopes are hijacked

When I think of you,
I can smell the freedom you always cherished.
You were always flying,
Flying high above for sake of freedom till you died

When I think of you,
I think of your accommodating heart.
You showed us true love and patriotism.
North, South, East or West, you instructed us that Sudan is our to lead

From all these things our Chairman,
I cry day and night and sometimes deny that youre truly gone.
I know they killed you,
But over and over blame your death on Imotong the mountain you always loved.

In memory of Comrade Dr. John Garang de Mabior, my Chairman.
Dr. Mawien Akot
