Sudan participates in CEN-SAD Summit in Libya

Advisor of the President, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, chaired Sudan's delegation to the coordination meetings of the Leaders and Head of States of the Community of the Sahel -Sahara (CEN-SAD), which concluded session in Surt, Libya, Thursday evening.
The summit discussed the issues and agenda of the 8th Ordinary Summit of the African Union (AU), scheduled to be held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in the coming two days. SUNA learnt that CEN-SAD Summit discussed upgrading and activation of the African Union Institutions in conformity with the Libyan proposal which called for setting up of a Federal African Government towards the establishment of the United African States. Informed Sources said the Libyan proposal will be on the agenda of the Ordinary Session of the African Union. Meanwhile, the Advisor of the President, Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail, said the Libyan proposal on the structure of the African Union was among the most important issues of the consultative meeting, revealing that it was met with consensus. Answering a question on President Al-Bashir's absence, Dr. Ismail attributed that to his internal engagements, affirming that President Al-Bashir will participate in a mini-summit that will precede the AU's Summit
