وزي ما اتحلت الأزمه بين الشريكين الحاكمين في السودان..بالخضوع للشروط .. أتمني أن تحل كل الأزمات بين كل شريكين في الحياه ..وخاصه فاطمه ومحمد بالطريقه دي... هي في الأول وبعد تعب ومعاناه مع شريكها تقول ليه..ماشيه بيت أهلي..وتطلع وتسيب البيت والبصل مقطع في الحله.. وهو يتغاظ ويتحامق ويقول..التمشي..ريحتنا ذاتو.. يتدخلوا بقي الأهل والأصحاب علشان ترجع.. هي تقبل بشروط..ماهي كمان لسه بتحب بيتها وشكل الأسره.. تقوم هي تخت شروطها ويقوم هو هو يمتنع في تكبر..ويقول لأ ده كتير! وبعد شويه يكتر الضغط من هنا وهناك.. ويعرف انه مابيقدر يعيش من غيرها وفي احتمال انه كمان "أهلها" يجوا يأدبوه.. يقوم يجي ويقول ليها..
ياحبيبتي يا حلوه لازم نرجع لبعض.. وهديتي ليك تنفيذ شروطك..زي ما تحبي! ويرجعوا لبعض.. ويهدوا للتانيين أغنيه بتقول..

ولما السودان ومصر كانوا حته واحده..واصبحوا اشقاء بعد الأستقلال..انور السادات شتم نميري أول ما فكر يعمل ليه رويشات معاه.. وعلي الرغم من انه الأفارقه هم احنا..لكنهم لسه اخوان..يعني هم هايكونوا اشقاؤك كيف لو مافي علاقات زي البينك وبين اشقاءك في شمال القاره والمنطقه العربيه؟ وبعدين اسه انت ما وريتني ألأشقاء ديلك عندك دليل انهم من الأب والأم؟ وكمان الأخوان يا تهم من ناحية الأب وياتهم من ناحية الأم؟؟
التمييز مهم علشان الميراث.. لكن يخيل لي اسه مابقي مهم شديد..لأنه الورثه اتوزعت خلاص..

القول المستمر بأن "فلان طيب" في الحقيقه وليس عكس ما يظهر لأغلب الناس مدمرا في كل الاتجاهات هو قول "خايب" اي ليس له معني وغير عقلاني لدرجه بعيده.. يكون ربما من الفضل حتي يكون الحديث مقبولا ان نقول أن فلان له شخصيتين ويعاني من الأنفصام.. أعتقد ان هذا عقلاني وأحسن وأتقي..
لا شيء يغفر لأي انسان ان يتمادي في جرحه للآخرين واهانتهم طوال الوقت..ولا يعتذر عن افعاله السخيفه ابدا..ثم يأتي البعض للقول ان من يشتم هنا..انسان لطيف في مكان آخر...هذه تعد اهانه لنل جميعنا.. جرائم عمر البشير الكثيره التي ارتكبها في حقنا ومازال..قد تصغر ايضا ان تحدثنا معه هاتفيا وكان لطيفا في حديثه! اطلاق سراحه للمعتقلين السياسين اليوم ربما يجب أن ننظر له بأنه فعل أخلاقي متكامل في طيبته علي الرغم من أنه لم يكن هناك سببا علي الأطلاق للقبض عليهم.. فعمر البشير الذي تضرب النساء ويقتل الأطفال والرجال أمام عينيه وبأمره..له ايضا من يرونه طيبا وحنونا من ارملات زملاءه..فكيف نري هذه المقارنه؟؟
علينا أن نكون حذرين وغير منجرفين في احكام تحاول تجميل السيء..مهما كانت أغراضنا.. فالكلمه مسئوليه وعلينا احترامها...

رأفت الوصاف من وصفه.. لم تذكر لنا.. هل نقدمها بعد التفاعل لضيوفنا كما هي أم نضيف لها بعض التجميلات؟؟ حتة شوكلاته مثلا.. ورده حمرا ولا بمبيه مثلا؟؟ يعني حاجات زي دي.. والوصفه دي لما تتفاعل..بتتفاعل لوحدها ولا احنا كمان معاها؟؟ التحديد مهم الشغلانه فيها سحر واعمال انا متأكده انها بتخوف.. يرضيك أغلي الأعمال الماياها في النار في ذلك القدر المخيف.. مع الأمنيات الحلوه وبعد ده اتفاعل معاها؟؟ أكيد مابيرضيك..

شاهدت لالأمس مؤتمرا يعقد مع ابن بناظير الطالب ذو ال19 ربيعا بوصفه الوارث لفمكان أمه في الحزب! وبجانبه كان والده يطلب من الصحفيين أن لا يكثروا عليه بالأسئله في الوقت الحالي.. واعتقد انه قال سيتحمل هو المسئوليه حتي يتفرغ لها الأبن.. الدبموقراطيه لا تعني ان يورث الحكم.. الديموقراطيه أن يسعي الجميع ببرامجهم ونشاطاتهم لجذب الآخرين ثم تعني الترشيح والأنتخاب.. ولم افهم لماذا لا يوجد آخر من خارج حزب الشعب بعد بناذير ليتولي شئون الحزب؟؟

وتحضيرا لأحتفالات الطغمه الحاكمه بعيدها في 30 يونيو..ثم بعد ذلك سرقه الأحتفال بعيد استقلال السودان في 2009..
فقد تحركت مجموعه من أمن النظام بوضع لسته مرحليه علي من يجب القبض عليهم من بعد 1 يناير 2008 والهدف انه عندما تأتي الأعياد المذكوره يكون اطلاق سراح المعتقلين هديه تفرح المواطنين البسطاء..

محمد الأمين فنان عظيم..وبتتعلم من الأيام من اجمل واقوي اغنياته.. حضرت له مع مجموعه من الصدقاء حفل في دار الأوبرا بالقاهره في أغسطس.. وكانت حفله جميله..
شكرا سمعتها.واستغرقت في سماعها حتي ظننت أني لن اقفلها ابدا!

وصل الي مصر عدد 1200 جندي مصري للمشاركه في القوات الأفرقيه والدوليه بدارفور.. مازالت الذاكره حيه بحوادث مصطفي كامل البشعه وموت العديد من النساء والأطفال والرجال بها..دون ان يتحرك العالم.. شاهدنا هنا في سودانيزأونلاين حملة غضب مشروعه..الا ان بعض ممن علي صراخهم لم يفعلوا اكثر من الضجيج..لم نرهم مثلا يصرون علي الأمم المتحده والمفوضيه بالتحقيق في الأمر..ولم نري لهم مواكب مسيره ومستمره حتي يتم التحقيق والأدانه ثم العقاب عما حدث...بل قاموا بالتصفيق لأسرائيل وربما نصحوا ايضا البعض من المكويين في القاهره بالتسلل لسرائيل..وتعريضهم مره أخري للموت والهلاك.. ثم لم نري لهم زياره لدارفور أثناء الحرب..وقبل ذلك الشرق ومناطق الحرب فيها.. الأدعاء بالوطنيه أكثر من الآخرين يتطلب مواقف واضحه تدعم القول... ومساكين هم أهل دارفور في المخيمات فالمتاجره بهم وصلت ابعد حد... ومساكين هم أهل دارفور بالقاهره..فحتي أموالهم التي ربما باعوا كلاهم من أجل الحصول عليها سرقها السماسره وضاعت عليهم أموالهم كما ضاعت عليهم حياتهم..
نرجع لدارفور وقوات الهجين.

افراغ الكلام من معناه شيء فظيع..لأننا عندما نستمر في استخدام تلك الكلمات مثل عنصريه واستعلاء وجلابه وماشابه بتكرار وبدون سبب..تفقد هذه الكلمات معناها وسطوتها... الهامش..كنا نعرفه في بداية المرحله الأبتدائيه بالخط الراسي الذي يفصل الجاني الأفقي العريض من طرف الكراسه..كان الأستاذ يطلب منا ان نحل مسائلنا بالقلم الرصاص في الهامش ثم نكنبها خطوات صحيحه في الناحيه اليمين.. ثم عرفنا بالزمن وعندما كبرنا الهامش هو الأطراف.. ثم سمعنا عن الهامش والمركز والعلاقه بينهما..كل كلمه موزونه ولها معني وسياق.. ليست في هذه المصطلحات وضع ثابت مطلف..بل هناك قياس ونسبيه يشرح بعضه من مجتمع لآخر..من قريه لأخري..من مدينه لقريه.. ثم أتي من بيننا من استفادوا من التعليم الجامفي في المركز ومن بعثات الحكومه..اي من خدمات المركز..لا ليناقش بعقلانية النسبيه في علاقة المركز بالهامش..بل باستخدام كلمة العنصري وتعميمها..وكأن كل القري الشماليه وفي وسط السودان لم يحدث لها تهميش..وكأن كل الشماليين قد استفادوا بشكل كامل أو غالب علي خدمات الدوله دون غيرهم.. اصبح الهامش كلمه سخيفه علي الأذن وممله من المتاجرين بقضايا أهل دارفور..تقع في الأذن كالتوسل الرخيص... ومن مظاهر الشفقه التي يمارسها البعض علي هذه المجموعه..هو دعمهم الخاوي من المعني لعنفهم..أري في مواقفهم شفقه وعدم احترام للحقيقه والمنطق..فلا يراجعونهم علي قبحهم ولا علي اساءاتهم وكأنهم يقولون للغير... معليش ديل مساكين ساكت ياخ!

مصر أكبر دوله عربيه علي الرغم من انها ليست الأغني ولا الأكثر استقرارا.. مصر بلد تعرف تماما كيف تلعب أوراقها لمصلحتها..وشيء طبيعي جدا أن الحكومات تدرس مصالحها وتلعبها علي حسب الأسس التي نتفق أو نختلف معها ومن خلال طرق عده.. التفاوض..المعاهدات..الأتفاقيات..القوانين الدوليه..المصلحه العامه وفيها الخاصه.. الطبيعي أن تبحث الحكومات عما يحقق لبلدها المنفعه..والمكانه بين الدول...
ولا ننسي أن مصر أكبر دوله عربيه من ناحية التخصص السياسي والممارسه..واتكلم هنا عن دوله وليس عن افراد.. وهي من أول الدول الأفريقيه والعربيه التي نالت استقلالها بعد نضال كبير مثل أغلبية الدول.. ومن هنا..ومن مركزها الأستراتيجي في شمال القاره..ومن تمرسها السياسي في داخلها وخارجها..اصبحت لمصر مكانتها الأقليميه والعالميه..ولا ننسي أنها عضو مؤسس لجامعة الدول العربيه..تجمع له مكانته في مثل القرارات الخاصه بدارفور.. مصر عمرها اكثر من 7 ألف عام..خلالها بنت وعمرت واستعمرت وتحررت وقادت مشروع القوميه العربيه.. وعلي المستوي السوداني المصري..هناك مصالح وتوازنات وفيها أيضا تنازلات مابين مصر والسودان..

االعالم يدور حول مصالح..واتفق علي أن يكون هناك جسد يضم عضوية كل دول العالم اسمه الأمم المتحده..هذا الجسد يحاول حماية أهل العالم من طمع حكامه..بحيث يمكن اللجوء له في وقت الحاجه.. ولقد أتي وقت الحاجه بالنسبه للسودان بعد ان حدث ما حدث بدارفور..وصدر قرار بانقاذ أهلها واهل المنطقه من اجرام الدوله فيها.. وفي نفس الوقت الذي نشات فيه الأمم المتحده للدفاع النبيل عن الأنسانيه.. نشأت بين الدول الأعضاء علاقات مصالح كثيره تحكمت في اسلوب عملها..في طريقة تصويتها علي القرارت وفي دعمها لها....ولا ننسي ان معظم الدول الأعضاء لها سجلات قد ترقي أو لا ترقي للأباده..ولها مصالح اقتصاديه مع بعضها..وتربطها مصالح أحيانا كانظمه علي راس البلاد وأحيانا مصالح ثابته لكل الوقت..مثل المصلحه المصريه عند السودان في قضية قضية مياه النيل من منابعها ومرورها بالسودان ورحلتها حتي مصر..هذه قضية شريان حياه ووجود بالنسبه لمصر.. ولا أعتقد أنه سيأتي يوما في الحياه تتوقف مصر فيه عن تقوية وجودها بالنسبه لنصيبها فيه.... .......... .........
في نفس الوقت النظام المصري ليس نظام ديموقراطي كما تحلم الشعوب بالديموقراطيه..وتهدده حركات اسلاميه وارهابيه احتواها السودان من قبل ليصدرها شمالا..مثل شيخ عمر في بداية التسعينا وكذلك الغنوشي التونسي ولا ننسي بن لادن..لذلك تخاف مصر ...تحرص..تدعم أو ترفض اي نظام قد يهدد كيانها في الشمال..ولت تترك السودان يفلت من رقابتها...مصر دعمت وأوت المعارضه لتكون تحت رعايتها..وفي نفس الوقت لا ننسي انهاأوت ايضا الشعوب السودانيه بالملايين دون من أو اذي يرقي لدرجة الشكوي دون تردد..حتي حدوث حوادث مصطفي كامل وكان فعلا شنيعا.. ولكن في رأيي اشتركت فيه الأمم المتحده ومفوضتها الخاصه باللاجئين..والدول التي يجب أن تستقبل اللاجئين..فلماذا سكتوا جميعا علي المجزره؟!
السودان ليس كالعراق بالنسبه لمصر..جغرافيا السودان هو النيل والحدود والأمتداد المستقبلي لمصالح مصر.. فكيف اذا الظن بأن أي قوات افريقيه او هجين تأتي للسودان تكون بدون القوات المصريه؟؟
كيف يظن البعض ان امريكا وباقي الدول الغربيه الكبري تستطيع أن ترفض اشتراك أكبر دوله عربيه تقع علي الحدود مع السودان وتربطها بها مصالح كثيره؟؟

Peacekeeping in an Age of Jihadism: Lessons of Somalia

On August 20, 2007, the United Nations Security Council voted to continue the African Union peacekeeping operation in Somalia (AMISOM) and urged member states to provide financial resources as well as personnel and equipment for AMISOM’s full deployment. At the same time, the Council authorized continued planning for the possible deployment of a UN force to the war-torn country
UN planners must be approaching their task with considerable trepidation. AMISOM currently consists of just 1,500 Ugandan troops, and other African countries seem highly reluctant – understandably so – to put their troops at risk in a highly unstable situation. Meanwhile, as it carries the planning process forward, the United Nations will necessarily be forced to confront the ghosts of its 1991-1995 interventions in Somalia known as UNOSOM I and II. With strong backing from U.S. troops, which launched the intervention as the George H. W. Bush Administration was leaving office, UNOSOM succeeded as a humanitarian operation that saved the lives of millions of Somalis at risk of starvation. However, due to the determined resistance of some of Somalia’s armed factions, UNOSOM failed to secure peace in Somalia or achieve national reconciliation so as to create a democratic state in a country without a central authority. Dozens of peacekeepers, most notably American and Pakistanis, were killed
This time around, a UN mission in Somalia will likely be no cakewalk either. U.S. troops are not likely to be available for the mission in view of heavy U.S. commitments in Iraq and Afghanistan. Nor would an American presence on the ground be advisable in view of sensitivities in the Islamic world that are now at an extremely high level. The dangers for potential peacekeepers from other countries are already well evident in Mogadishu, which for more than six months has been the scene of urban warfare reminiscent of contemporary Baghdad. In Mogadishu, remnants of Islamist forces that had been soundly defeated on open ground in late December 2006 and early 2007 by combined Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and Ethiopian government forces, are waging an urban insurgency. Their aims are to undermine efforts by the UN-recognized TFG to establish its authority and to drive Ethiopian forces from the country. The most extremist element of the defeated Islamist movement, the Shabbab (Youth) is suspected of being the mainstay of the insurgency. The exact nature of the links between Shabbab and the international Al Qaeda movement are murky, but Shabbab has acted as host to international jihadists in the past. The international community must contend with the possibility that the mobile and seasoned international jihadist movement may reinforce Somali extremists in opposing UN efforts to create a stable environment benefiting the TFG. Around the world, this movement has shown itself capable of great destructiveness with little or no regard for civilian casualties and international opinion
In my recently published book, The African Jihad: Bin Laden’s Quest for the Horn of Africa, I have tried to show how international jihadists including Al Qaeda and regional actors such as Sudan and Iran, collaborated with Somali factions to undermine the earlier UNOSOM I and II interventions. This conclusion is based on numerous sources including but not limited to published Al Qaeda documents and statements by former Al Qaeda operatives. For its part, Al Qaeda, which was already opposed to the U.S. military presence in Saudi Arabia, a result of the First Gulf War deployment, was determined to drive the U.S. military from Somalia out of fear of U.S. dominance of the region. From his base in Sudan, Osama Bin Laden spent considerable currency and deployed significant personnel and materiel to this strategic end. My research leads me to the conclusion that his operatives played a role of some sort in the famous October 1993 Black Hawk Down incident, which resulted in the death of 18 American soldiers and hundreds of Somalis, and which triggered U.S. disengagement from Somalia
In terms of the tactics of urban insurgency, Mogadishu of the 1990s may have served as an inspiration to international jihadists as they planned their response to the 2003 U.S. intervention in Iraq. Al Qaeda evidently believed that in Somalia it had achieved its goal of, in the words of Bin Laden, “cutting off the head of the snake (the United States)” in alliance with Somali militias. The Somali jihadist organization that acted as host to Al Qaeda and other jihadist groupings in the 1990s was Al Itihaad Al Islamiya (Islamic Union), and while it was a diverse movement, the extremist Shabbab movement is its direct descendant
After the rout of the Islamist forces in Somalia this past December and January, the publisher of The African Jihad agreed to postpone its publication to allow me to update the story of jihadism in the Horn of Africa with these historic events. Information readily available in the international media after the TFG-Ethiopian victory over the Union of Islamic Courts and allied forces indicates that foreign jihadists had converged in significant numbers on Mogadishu and other parts of southern Somalia during the six-month rule of the Union of Islamic Courts. The internationalist trainers and fighters arrived to wage jihad against Somali “apostates,” Ethiopia, and the United States; and some of them reportedly expressed their wider dream of turning neighboring Ethiopia and Egypt into Islamist states. It is also an open secret that Al Qaeda has desired a foothold in the Horn of Africa from which to launch operation against Yemen as part of a strategy to take its ultimate prize, Saudi Arabia
The Al Qaeda-allied faction within the Islamic Courts that was led by Sheikh Hasan Dahir Aweys had become militarily ascendant within the Islamist movement. Under the leadership of Sheikh Aweys’s Al Qaeda-trained protégé, Hasan Adan ‘Ayro, at least six camps were set up in and around Mogadishu to train what my research suggests may have been thousands of boys and young men as Shabbab mujahidin; similar mujahidin camps were set up in other parts of Somalia where Al Qaeda veterans were among those training youths from Somalia and the Somali Diaspora. Training reportedly included martyrdom indoctrination, and Somalia began to witness suicide bombings for the first time. I have been told that standout mujahidin recruits were airlifted to Eritrea for advanced training in making improvised explosive devices, car bombs, and suicide bomb vests, although the extent of this effort and the numbers involved are not known
Eritrea has been a major player in supporting Somali jihadists. Its support for Somalia’s jihadists and Ethiopia’s armed opposition based in Somalia began at least as early as 1999, while Ethiopia and Eritrea were embroiled in a bloody border war. Eritrea backing for groups in Somalia appears to have been renewed in the context of Ethiopia’s non-acceptance of the findings of the international commission set up to resolve the border dispute between the two countries. In its determination to wage a proxy war against Ethiopia from Somalia, Eritrea provided training and arms to the faction led by Sheikh Aweys, who said on Mogadishu radio that he would leave no stone unturned in creating a Greater Somalia that would include Somali-inhabited regions of Ethiopia. Eritrea also provided training, materiel, and advisory support to two Ethiopian insurgencies, the Oromo Liberation Front and the Ogaden National Liberation Movement whose fighters reportedly on occasion fought alongside the Islamist forces
Despite the perils that an Islamist urban insurgency may pose to a UN peacekeeping force, there are compelling reasons for the international community’s involvement in Somalia. Not the least of these is the urgent need for relief for the Somali civilian population in the form of peace, stability, and humanitarian assistance. Somalis have suffered greatly since the defeat of the Islamist forces and the rise of the insurgency. The intervention of a UN-sponsored force, more robust than the current African Union one, may also set the stage for the withdrawal from Somalia of the Ethiopian military which has remained in Somalia to protect the fledgling TFG. Addis has repeatedly expressed its desire to withdraw its forces from Somalia, and Ethiopian withdrawal is a sine qua non for an enduring peace in Somalia. Moderate leaders from within the Somali Islamist movement who are living in exile in Eritrea have made it clear that they will not participate in the TFG-sponsored reconciliation process as long as Ethiopian troops remain on Somali soil. The participation of the Islamist moderates in a government of national unity would greatly enhance the chances of further marginalizing the extremist elements and undercutting their appeal. Additionally, in this age of international jihadism, the international community has little responsible alternative but to initiate a sustained engagement in Somalia to deprive terrorist elements of a safe haven. UN engagement in Somalia will also deprive Eritrea of territory from which to wage a senselessly destructive proxy war against Ethiopia with multiple benefits for Ethiopia and the greater Horn of Africa region

Policy makers would be well advised to seek ways to neutralize the jihadist threat to a UN peacekeeping operation in Somalia by seeking to cut off external support to groups like Shabbab that are capable of hosting foreign jihadist fighters. Without a local host organization, the international jihadists have limited reach into a given society. In addition, from my research into jihadism in the greater Horn of Africa, I have learned that jihadist groupings, like Shabbab, typically atrophy once external support for their operations is withdrawn; populations are generally unwilling to support those espousing destructive ideologies that are at odds with their more traditional Islamic beliefs and practices
Counterterrorism cooperation in the wider Horn of Africa region and in the Middle East has yielded some successes in disrupting the flow of funds to jihadist terrorist operatives. UN reports of the serious multilateral violations of its weapons embargo on Somalia are alarming, however, and the security of UN peacekeepers and the success of an intervention require that the international community find ways to more effectively curb external military support for Somali factions, largely from regional and Middle Eastern countries and interests vying for influence in Somalia. It will be particularly important for Eritrea, which has supported Shabbab and armed Ethiopian insurgencies, to once again cooperate in the international counterterrorism effort, and the international community must find ways to convince Eritrea that it is in its interests to do so
It may also be advisable to craft the composition of a UN force to help reduce the chances that foreign jihadist fighters will be attracted to Somalia to oppose a UN sponsored mission. During the earlier UNOSOM missions, Al Qaeda actively opposed the U.S. military presence, as noted above, and the Al Qaeda-affiliated Pakistani terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (Army of Mohammed) was among those providing recruits and financing to the Somali Al Itihaad Al Islamiya to use against Pakistani troops that were perceived to be working on behalf of U.S. interests. In general, the perception of a future UN force as neutral in terms of geo-political interests will lessen the likelihood of attracting aggression from foreign jihadists
In this complex situation, with the stability of a wide part of Africa at stake, U.S. policymakers should consider the following measures:
The provision of generous but low-profile support (including funding and intelligence) to a future UN mission in Somalia; A formal request to Eritrea to renew its cooperation in counterterrorism, including a cessation of support for jihadist groups and armed Ethiopian insurgencies and the handing over for trial of Al Qaeda and Al Qaeda-allied operatives that may be found within Eritrean territory; if Eritrean cooperation is not forthcoming, the imposition of U.S. and international sanctions on Eritrea as appropriate; Strong U.S. leadership in the enforcement of the UN arms embargo on Somalia to help protect peacekeepers; A quiet diplomatic initiative in concert with the United Nations and the Arab League to reconcile the TFG and moderate Islamists to create the political conditions needed for a successful peacekeeping mission and the emergence of the TFG as a viable government of authentic national unity Last year, in a different forum I suggested the need for an international Marshall Plan for the Horn of Africa region. Such a Plan should be considered a key part of a counterterrorism strategy offering Somali factions and countries in the region with economic development incentives to leave the option of violence behind as well as a vision of the prosperity that may be achieved through regional economic integration. I am more convinced than ever that innovative thinking is required to end the cycle of violence in this region. In this regard, a vision of regional prosperity may act as both a counterweight to jihadist rhetoric that is seductive to young men trapped in seemingly hopeless situations and a substitute for the outdated ideologies of armed struggle that heighten political instability and create openings for international jihadists. U.S. policymakers should consider playing a leadership role in catalyzing such an initiative and mobilizing international contribution in support of it. It will certainly enhance the image of the United States as a peacemaker

As the one-year anniversary of the failed Darfur Peace Agreement approaches, a key question is whether China will continue to offer strong support to the government of Sudan, despite its role in the four-year old conflict. Or, will China increase pressure on Khartoum to accept an international peacekeeping force out of concern about damage to its international reputation
A partial answer is that China's policy toward Sudan is driven by more than its growing appetite for oil and natural gas. Beijing also has a stake in positioning itself in Africa and globally as an alternative to western "meddling" on issues of human rights and governance
Beijing is weighing these issues against against concerns about damage to its international position, reputational and otherwise, especially as it prepares to host the Summer Olympics next year, as I outline in the research note, below
China, Sudan, and Darfur
The economic, political, and military relationship between China and Sudan is extensive, but not without limits. China is Sudan’s number one consumer of oil and its largest foreign investor. China is an important supplier of arms and equipment to Sudan. China has also been Sudan’s main defender at the United Nations and elsewhere against efforts to apply sanctions against Khartoum for its role in the Darfur conflict. China has also shown that it will apply pressure on Sudan out of concern about damage to its own international standing, particularly as Beijing prepares to host the Summer Olympics in 2008
China’s close relationship with the government of Sudan is part and parcel of Beijing’s overall policy toward Africa, where China has recently emerged as one of the world’s most influential players. China’s involvement in Sudan dates to the early period of its independence in the late 1950s. But China’s fast growing energy needs have since the mid-1990s significantly elevated the importance Beijing attaches to its relations with Khartoum. Africa today supplies more than a quarter of Beijing’s imported oil needs, and Beijing is, along with the United States and France, among Africa’s most important trading partners. The political ties between China and much of Africa have also intensified in recent years, reflecting common interests as developing nations as well as common interest, in certain instances, in opposing interference by the west on human rights and related issues
China explicitly offers diplomatic support, investment, and assistance to Sudan on a principle of “noninterference.” That principle provides a counterweight to international pressure in support of human rights, good governance, and democracy. And, it is the principle on which Beijing bases its relations with Khartoum, despite the Sudanese government’s role in the mass killings and genocide in Darfur
THE ECONOMIC RELATIONSHIP. The basis of China’s interest in Sudan, and Africa more broadly, is principally oil. China became a net importer of oil in 1993, and its consumption has grown exponentially since then. China surpassed Japan as the world’s second largest consumer of oil, after the United States, in 2004. Its oil imports continue to grow. By 2025, it is estimated that China will import as much oil as the United States currently does
Africa holds nine percent of the world’s proven oil reserves, modest compared to reserves in Saudi Arabia and Russia, but important as an alternative source of reserves, nonetheless. Sudan, in particular, provides unique opportunities and advantages for China and others because many western governments and firms have withdrawn from the country for political or security reasons
Sudan is a relatively minor but new and growing source of oil. Sudan now accounts for 0.4 percent of the world’s total oil supply, producing roughly 360,000 barrels per day. It has proven reserves of roughly 560 million barrels
American and Canadian firms withdrew from Sudan in the mid-1990s due to a combination of security and human rights concerns. U.S. regulations, first imposed during the Clinton administration, bar investment in Sudan’s oil sector. China stepped in to fill the vacuum. In 1999, less than 1 percent of Beijing’s total oil imports were from Sudan. Today, China gets 7 percent of its oil imports from Sudan. Roughly two-thirds of Sudan’s oil exports go to China. Oil revenue is a principle source of funding for Sudan’s military operations. As much as 70 percent of Khartoum’s oil revenues goes to military spending, according to a former Sudanese finance minister
Specifically, the state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation is the largest stakeholder in Sudan’s main oil producing consortium, the Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company. Since 1996, China has held a forty percent stake in the Nile project, which produces the majority of Sudan’s oil. Malaysia’s Petronas Nasional Berhad and ONGC Videsh Ltd., a unit of India’s Oil & Natural Gas Corporation, are the other major investors
Chinese firms have also participated in numerous other energy related enterprises, including construction of hydropower and electric power. On the strength of its energy investments, Sudan is China’s third largest trading partner in Africa, after Angola and South Africa. It accounts for 13 percent of China’s total trade with Africa. China, in turn, is Sudan's largest trading partner, purchasing roughly two-thirds of Sudan's exports and providing some 20 percent of its imports
China also offers substantial aid and assistance to Sudan. In February 2007, for example, Chinese President Hu Jintao traveled to Sudan to meet with Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, as part of a eight-nation trip through Africa. The advance billing for this trip suggested the possibility that the Chinese government would use the visit to press Khartoum strongly to improve the situation in Darfur. The main results, however, appeared to be a new package of economic and other aid. Hu announced new economic agreements, including to write off $80 million of Sudanese debt and to provide an interest-free loan of $13 million for infrastructure projects, including a new presidential palace. China also pledged $5.2 million in humanitarian assistance for Darfur

Many African states rallied to Beijing’s defense after western nations criticized and imposed sanctions on China in the wake of the Tiananmen Square crackdown in 1989. More recently, China has been concerned about efforts to redefine the UN Charter’s principle of noninterference into the “domestic jurisdiction” of states. In September 2005, the General Assembly endorsed the “responsibility to protect,” a principle which establishes an international responsibility to take action to prevent or stop “genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing, and crimes against humanity.” While China and Sudan joined the General Assembly consensus to endorse this principle, China is concerned about the precedent it sets, and its potential use as a political weapon
Some African states share China’s historical mistrust of western motivations in pursuing a human rights agenda, although the sub-Saharan democracies are strong backers of the responsibility to protect. Beijing sees Sudan and other African states as natural allies in the effort to push back against efforts to condition state sovereignty on the behavior of states. China’s continued support of Sudan also enhances its position in Africa as an alternative source of support for governments that have chafed under western pressure to reform
China is the world’s second largest economy, but is also the world’s largest developing nation. For the purposes of its relations with Africa, China self-identifies as the leader of the developing world, and there is evidence that this resonates with some Africans, who view Beijing as the developing world’s only permanent representative on the UN Security Council
China has also provided much needed economic assistance and peacekeeping support for Africa. At the November 2006 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, for example, China announced it would cancel the debt of 31 African countries. In recent years, China has abandoned its traditional aversion to participation in UN peacekeeping operations, becoming the largest contributor of troops among the permanent five members of the Security Council. As of today, China has 1,200 troops in three missions in Africa, the world’s thirteenth largest contributor overall. China supported the Comprehensive Peace Agreement in Sudan that ended the 20-year-old civil war between the North and South, and contributes 565 peacekeepers to UNMIS, the UN mission that monitors implementation of the agreement
China pursues its comparative advantage by emphasizing its policy of investment and assistance in Africa with no strings attached, in contrast to the IMF and other international donors, which have conditioned assistance to African governments on economic reforms and transparency. In the extreme cases of Sudan and Zimbabwe, Beijing has been willing not only to deepen economic and diplomatic relations, but also to protect the regimes against international criticism and sanction

China maintains a defense relationship with Sudan, despite the UN arms embargo that has been in place for Darfur since 2005. The Security Council imposed an embargo on all nongovernmental forces operating in Darfur in July 2004, and expanded it to include government forces as well in 2005. Sales to Khartoum are still permitted, although a UN panel, which visited Sudan in August 2005 to investigate violations of the embargo, recommended in April 2006 that the Security Council expand the embargo to the entire country
Information about recent Chinese arms sales to Sudan is difficult to discern both because of China’s secrecy and because of the inherent difficulty of tracking the flow of small arms, which are below most international reporting thresholds. The UN Panel of Experts reported spotting Chinese-made military trucks in the Port of Sudan that appeared similar to those used on Sudanese Army bases in Darfur. Non-governmental organizations have reported that small arms used by rebels, janjaweed, and government forces in Darfur are of Chinese origin. There are also reports that Khartoum supplied Chinese-made automatic grenade launchers to the United Front for Democratic Change, a Chadian rebel group that also operates out of bases in Darfur. Russia and France are also suppliers of arms and military equipment to Sudan. In the last six years, Russia reported to the United Nations deliveries of 33 attack helicopters to Khartoum, eight combat aircraft, and 30 armored combat vehicles. (Between 2001 and 2004, France exported over $1 million of mostly small arms, spare parts, and ammunition.)
Beijing defends its sales to Khartoum as legal, and says that it requires all of its buyers not to transfer arms to other parties, including guerilla groups, a claim which is difficult to confirm independently. Zhai Jun, China’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, said in March 2007, “With Sudan, we have cooperation in many aspects, including military cooperation. In this, we have nothing to hide.”
In early April, China received Sudan’s Joint Chief of Staff. The Chinese Minister of Defense told his Sudanese counterpart that China was “willing to further develop cooperation between the two militaries in every sphere.”
CHINA AND DARFUR. China has been the chief impediment to strong Security Council action against the government of Sudan for its role in the mass killings and genocide in Darfur, although it has calibrated its position as international criticism has grown. The Security Council has passed six resolutions on Darfur in the four years since the present conflict began, but has yet to impose economic sanctions or other penalties on the government, although travel and financial sanctions have been imposed on four individuals implicated in war crimes. The Chinese Ambassador to Sudan, Zhang Dong, explained his government’s position in 2007, saying, “China never interferes in Sudan’s internal affairs.”
For example, China succeeded in watering down Security Council resolution 1556 (July 30, 2004). That resolution imposed an arms embargo on nongovernmental combatants in Darfur, required Khartoum to allow humanitarian assistance into Darfur, and also required the government of Sudan to disarm the janjaweed. The original draft would have established a committee to monitor Khartoum’s compliance; due to the threat of a Chinese veto, however, the final resolution included no enforcement mechanism. Two months later, China succeeded in weakening an effort to credibly threaten sanctions on Sudan’s petroleum sector and delayed by six months imposition of a ban on offensive military flights, which was imposed by UNSCR 1591 (March 29, 2005). China abstained on a resolution (UNSCR 1593, March 31, 2005) that referred indicted war criminals to the International Criminal Court (as did the United States). The following year, China resisted efforts to sanction Sudanese government officials charged with war crimes, whittling down from seventeen to four the list of those individuals subject to Security Council travel bans and financial sanctions (UNSCR 1672, April 25, 2006). China, backed by Russia, publicly threatened to veto an initial draft of that resolution
In August 2006, China insisted that the Security Council’s resolution authorizing a peacekeeping force for Darfur include the condition that it deploy “with the consent” of the government of Sudan. In a compromise between China and the United States and Britain, the final resolution “invites” but does not require the consent of Khartoum. China and Russia abstained rather than veto the resolution
The impact of China’s successful efforts to block strong action have been significant as they are seen by Khartoum and others as an indication of continuing Security Council division on whether and if so how to pressure the Sudanese government to take action to end the conflict
China has calibrated its position as international opposition has grown. Beijing played a helpful role in gaining Sudanese acceptance on November 16, 2006 of a three-phase plan for deployment of a hybrid African Union/UN peacekeeping force of 22,000 troops. Since then, as Sudan has equivocated on the meaning of a “hybrid” force, China has begun to register its displeasure with Khartoum. During his February trip to Sudan, Hu reportedly spoke privately to Bashir about upholding his commitment to accept a peacekeeping force. In a public statement following the meeting, Hu added to China’s list of guiding principles for resolving the conflict the imperative to “improve the situation in Darfur and living conditions of local people.” After the visit, in February, China’s National Development and Reform Commission announced that Sudan no longer had preferred trade country status, removing certain financial incentives provided to Chinese companies that invest in Sudan. China’s ambassador to the United Nation also publicly expressed disappointment with Khartoum following President Bashir’s March 2007 letter to Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon rejecting several aspects of the UN’s hybrid force plan
The degree to which China will push Sudan on Darfur remains an open question. There are strong reasons why China may not pressure Khartoum in a meaningful way. For Beijing, a decision to pressure Sudan would have consequences beyond the bilateral relationship, which is important in its own right. China’s quest for control of and access to natural resources is presently predicated on its ability to negotiate arrangements with governments who promise it exclusivity or preferential treatment. China’s comparative advantage is that it is willing to do business with governments that others spurn, and with no strings attached. A decision to pressure Sudan would erode China’s reputation as a genuine alternative, which could have broader economic consequences in Africa. It would also weaken China’s claim to be a standard bearer against unwanted western meddling, including international criticism of its own human rights practices
On the other hand, China’s relationship with Sudan is worrisome to officials in Beijing, especially as Beijing prepares to host the Summer Olympics in 2008. Beijing’s interest in improving its international standing may shift its position towards more strongly pressuring Khartoum

كثر الموت وزادت معه أحزان الناس عامه..وفي نفس الوقت لم يعد الوقوف في محطة الحزن طويلا كما كان يحدث..أو علي الأقل شيئا ممارس بشكل واضح..الحزن دائم في النفس..لكن اقصد مظاهره من حداد..ويرجع ذلك لتراكماته الكبيره علي النفس..في زمن أصبح الموت أكثر من المرض نفسه.. وتيقننا المتزايد بأن الدور قادم سريع علينا..
من ضمن كلمات المريحه في العزاء التي تقال كثيرا لأعزاء المفقود كدعاء..
"جعله الله آخر الأحزان"
هذه أمنيه بديعه ودعاء فيه حب كبير..الا انني التفت صدفه بفهم شيطاني او مختلف آخر لهذا الدعاء.. ووجدته غير واقعي من ناحيه عمليه..خاصه من ناحية عد المرور بالفقد.. لأنه لو حدث ..فهذا يعني ببساطه أننا نحن الذين متنا..ولم نعد نعيش في الدنيا نشعر بموت أعزائنا ونحزن له!

وقف في القدس المحتله فرحا.. وانتشر علي حسب رواية الأخبار ..عشره الف جندي في المدينه تحسبا أمنيا لما يقد يحدث ساعة زيارة جورج بوش.. وقف جورج بوش وقت أحتفال الترحيب به وسط عدد كبير من الأطفال هو ورئيس أسرائيل.. فرحا بهم يغني ويصفق معهم... فأطفال الدوله الصهيونيه عنده أعز وأكرم من أطفال العرب في فلسطين المحتله! هنا يرقص معهم..وهناك يقتلهم..
ثم في طلب رومانسي..نسي الموت الذي يحصد العرب ويمنعهم من العباده.. وطالب باطفاء النور في المدينه حتي يستمتع بمنظر القدس ليلا!
أعلن تلفزيون دبي عن قرب عرضه لمسلسل "الخيران"..تحيرت جدا وظننت انني لم اسمع ماسمعته..لكني تأكدت تماما أنها "الخيران" تساءلت لحظتها ياربي الخور بتاع بكري مشي وين؟؟ اتذكرت كمان زمان كلمة خور دي الواحد بيخاف منها كيف..ويتكسف يمشي يشوف الحاصل فيها..

والحوامه وسط البوستات متعه في حد ذاتها..صحيح ابوابها وشكلها العام مافيه فرق كبير..لكن الفرق ممكن يظهر في طريقة الناس المساهمه في البوست... مرات تلقي البوست فيهو سيده بس..يكتب..يطلع يرجع يكتب تاني..ويقعد يعمل كده براه لغاية ما يقنع يمشي ينوم.. ومرات تلقي صاحب البوست كاتب كلام والمعلق الأول كاتب كلام خارج الموضوع... وبعدين في بوستات لو عملت المستحيل ما بتكون فاهم الحاصل شنو...فجأه كده وبقدرة قادر تكون شكله مدوره فيها...
لكن الملاحظ انه التنيح بقي قليل خالص..الناس ياربي بقت واقعيه زياده عن اللزوم ولا شنو؟ غايتو نمشي نتفرج ونجيكم راجعين...

هناك اسماء كثيره تظهر فجأه بعضها قريب الالتحاق بالبورد..تجده يعرف الاخرين بنفسه فيسلم علي الجميع في بوست يفتحه بنفسه..يعمده بالشكر والسلام.. وهناك من تظنه جديدا..لكنك تنظر لتاريخ اشتراكه فتجده قبل اشتراكك بسنوات..فتعلم انك انت الجديد.. اي كان هذا العضو؟؟!
ثم زاد العدد فتكررت الأسماء المتشابهه..ومع غياب الصور لا يكون امامنا الا مذاكرة اسلوب كل منهم في الكتابه أو الأرتباك بينهم.. ومع العدد الكبير المفرح...قل ايضا الارتباط العاطفي بين الأعضاء حتي ونحن نتمسك بتلاليبه...وتشتت المجهودات بين هذا وذاك..وبين ما نوده... ثم كثر الشك بين مجموعات لا تختلف كثيرا في اداءها الا فيما قل... وهنا انت غارق لا محاله...اذ كيف تميز بين الرئيس "....." القائد لمجموعه...عن الرئيس "...." القائد لمجموعه أخري؟؟
ليس هناك فرق..فللأثنين ربطات عنق متشابهه!
ثم أن الوجود الكثير بالمنبر يعلم من له عقليه غبيه مثلي كثيرا..عقليه تحتاج أن تؤكد ما يدور في خلدها بالتكرار.. تستطيع بداية ان تغرك بعض الكتابات التي تظنها مبدئيه وفيها انفه وكبرياء..خاصة لو ظهرت كرشها ممنتفخه قليلا..ولكن التكرار المنبه والتتبع ...يمكنك من ان تتاكد تماما ان ماغراك لم يكن حقيقه..فالمصالح تحكم الأغلبيه والترصد زاد مهم في سودانيزاونلاين..
وفي هذا النادي الكبير..تصنع معارف..سرعان مايصبح بعضهم اصدقاء..يسندونك بما خلقوه في دواخلك من جمال..في ان ترفض الانسحاب عندما تسوء الأوضاع!
تستطيع ان تتنكر وتكتب باسم امراه او فتاه شابه..لكن الفتيات يعلمن تماما اسلوب النساء والبنات في الكتابه..تري ان تنكر رجل في الغرفه مع مجموعه من الفتيات..هل يمكنهن اكتشافه أم لا؟؟ للفتيات لغه مختلفه عن لغة الأولاد!
والداخل لعالم سودانيزاونلاين عليه ان يعلم انه عالم جميل..لكنه ايضا غبي وثقيل..لذلك تسوده موجات غريبه من الأنفعالات المبرره وتلك الغير مبرره.. ففجاه تجد الجميع في حالة حب وشعر وتتنيح..كان كل هذه الدنيا زهره وهم أوراقها.. ثم لا يطول الزمن..تظهر حمي المعارضه السياسيه..فاليوم ...وهو علي فكره ليس مختلف من اي يوم منذ 1989 ظهر خبر عن الأنقاذ والتي تغير اسمها للمؤتمر الوطني..وهذه مظله كبيره ترحب بكل من يعشق الكذب والضحك علي االذقون..الخبر واحد من سلسلة اخبار معتاده..لكنه صادف الأيام ذات النشاط السياسي..فكان له نصيبه من الهتافات..
حتي الموت عنده دورات..تجد في يوم واحد عدة عزاءات تقفز لأعلي الصفحه أو آخرها حسب المعزين وميعاد حضورهم..وحسب ايضا مشاركة اهل المتوفي في مجاملة الآخرين.. لكن لا احد يقف عند الموت كثيرا ولا يجب..فاعمر اساسا ناقص..فان ضاع في الحزن والحداد فانه لا يتبقي منه شيئا.. هذا البورد مجنون..فقد كتبت ما كتبت واذا به كله يضيع في "لحظه".. علي كل حال راقبوه وستعرفون لماذا هو مجنون!

ايوه..هذا ما نتعلمه.. فنجمع بين هذا وذاك..او نضيع في ايهما.. الخير والشر..الجمال والقبح علي الرعم من انهما نقيضان الا انهما متواجدان باقدار نراها اكبر أو اقل علي حسب رؤيتنا للأشياء..فليس من مدينه قاضله تماما كما يحلم افلاطون ولا سيئه تماما كما يدعو الشيطان.. ليس هناك مطلق الا الله..الحقيقه المجرده نراها ولكن قد نفشل في أن نري كل جوانبها... تفسيرنا للحقيقه يكون صحيحا من وجهة نظرنا..وليس بالضروره للآخرين... حلم الجعان عيش.. وحلم الوحيد حب.. والغني في "رأينا" ليس له حلم..وهو في "رايه ان يزيد أمواله.. العالم ينقسم الي اثنين..حلم وواقع وما بينهما مقسم بين الأثنين.. ليس هناك حدود للفقر يقولون..لكن الفقير يعلم انه فقير وليس هناك حالة فقر اسوا من حالته.. ....... .......
كل شيء نسبي..فنحن مهما علا بنا الشأن لا نملك كل الحقيقه.. والحقيقه لها اكثر من وجه... حتي العالم..يظن قاطن القري البعيده في السودان انه ينتهي شمالا في مصر..ثم لا يدري شرقا أم غربا يقع بيت الله الكريم الذي يحلم بذيارته حتي وهو جاهل لكيفية وامكانية الوصول اليه... وكل ما عدا ذلك هو عالم من صنع الشيطان ..يسمع عنه وعن عيونه الزرقاء ولكنه لا يفهم كيف يكون.. المعرفه محدوده الا معرفة الخالق..فهي الكمال.. وماذكر عن التقسيمات المتضاده هي مجرد محاوله في التفسير..فنحن لا نري مايراه الله.. ولا نستطيع حتي ونحن نري التقسيمات ان نجزم انها مكتمله..ولكننا نواصل الأجتهاد..فننجح ونفشل لنعود مرة اخري للتقسيمات..

تتحدث الخرطوم عن تلك الخراف التي تم استيرادها من أوستراليه في بدايه أزمة انتشار الحمي النزيفيه في السودان..
يقال أن ان الايستراد تم واسطة صلاح جوش بكتمان شديد..فوصلت بورتسودان عن طريق بلد ثالث...ربما كانت مصر..أو الأردن.. ومن بورتسودان للخرطوم حيث تم توزيعها علي مزرعتين..يقال أن احداهما موجوده بمنطقة سوبا..وألاخري بالخرطوم بحري..الحلفايا..
ويقال ان مساعد صلاح جوش في هذه العمليه هو احد أعوانه من وزراء الدوله السابقين..والذي مازال نشطا معه في "الأمن" ويقال أن الوزير السابق هو ايضا المالك للمزرعه في الحلفايا..
تم توزيع اعداد كبيره من الخراف لأهل الأنقاذ "الكبار..ثم بعض منها للمتعاملين معها لذبحها في عيد الضحيه..خوفا عليهم من تلك المتأثره بالحمي النزيفيه او المشكوك في صحتها في السوق.. ثم تركوا بعض الخراف لتتكاثر في المزرعتين حتي تتكاثر..
وترك باقي الشعب دون ذبائح..فقرا أوخوفا من الخراف المريضه!

And both that morning equally lay In leaves no step had trodden black Oh, I kept the first for another day Yet knowing how way leads on to way I doubted if I should ever come back
I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence two roads diverged in a wood, and I I took the one less traveled by And that has made all the difference
ABOUT THIS POEM meaning The literal meaning of this poem by Robert Frost is pretty obvious. A traveler comes to a fork in the road and needs to decide which way to go to continue his journey. After much mental debate, the traveler picks the road "less traveled by" The figurative meaning is not too hidden either. The poem describes the tuogh choices people stand for when traveling the road of life. The words "sorry" and "sigh" make the tone of poem somewhat gloomy. The traveler regrets leaves the possibilities of the road not chosen behind. He realizes he probably won't pass this way again

عندما نتردد في التفكير.. ونحتار..اي خيار من خيارين نتبع..نكون في الأصل غير متأكدين.. ومادمنا غير متأكدين فالوضعين او الخيارين متساوين في شعورنا نحوهم.. وفي اللحظه التي نختار أحد الخيارين نكون قد فضلنا أحدهما عن الآخرين..وبهذا التفضيل..لا يكون الخيارين متساويين كما ظننا قبل الأختيار..
خياراتنا...
ماهي خياراتنا؟؟ مايكون خيارا لك قد لا يكون خيارا لشخص آخر..بل هو وضع مفروض له وخيار لك.. الطريقين والتردد..حالة عدم تأكد وتمسك بما ودت النفس أن تصدق أنه الأفضل..لا أدري..ربما كان الأفضل..أو الأسهل..أو ببساطه شديده لم يفرق كثيرا في ايهما نسير.... اختيار الطريق الأول والمضي فيه لا يعني ان الطريق الآخر كان صوابا وعقلا منا أننا تفاديناه.. كيف نعرف ان لم نجرب؟ فربما كان أفضل! والمتخذ لطريق دون الآخر عليه ان يتعلم شيئين.. اما الرجوع للبدايه ..المغامره وتجريب الطريق الآخر الذي لم يأخذه بدايه..فيكون ساعتها قد عرف.. واما أن يكون في داخل نفسه هاله من القناعات الزائفه..فيتبني بقناعه الكسلان او الذي تتعبه عمليه اتخاذ القرارات..قرارا فيه قوله..لقد فعلت حسنا باتخاذي هذا الطريق!
وتمر الأيام وتتعدد الطرق ويتمدد التردد او الأخطاء..أو عدم الأحساس بأي منهم!

The first five people named above and eight of the others have been detained for five weeks reportedly in Dirbat by the Sudan Liberation Army/Abdel Wahed (SLA/A-W), an armed opposition group in Darfur. They are apparently being detained on the orders of Abdel Wahed Mohammed Nur, the leader of the SLA/A-W. Their exact location is not known and Amnesty International fears that they are at risk of being tortured or ill-treated or unlawfully killed.
Some of the men come from Ain Siro, an area 30 kilometres north-west of Kutum in North Darfur, which is under the control of the SLA/A-W. Amnesty International understands that Ali Haroun and the others from Ain Siro supported the unity of the different factions of the Sudan Liberation Army (SLA), which has splintered into several factions, as well as engaging in political dialogue to end the conflict in Darfur. They were reportedly summoned to the headquarters of the SLA/A-W in Dirbat, where they were disarmed and detained in December. Sources suggest that one of the group, Tya Kuku Rahal, may have been unlawfully killed during his detention.
Abdallah Amir al-Mu’minin, the SLA legal adviser, and three others, are said to have been abducted in Dirbat by SLA/A-W commanders and taken to an unknown place of detention.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION The Sudan Liberation Army (SLA) and the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) took up arms against the Sudanese government in Darfur in 2003 in protest against the perceived marginalisation of Darfur. The Sudanese government armed and supported local militias, known as the Janjawid, as a proxy force against the rebels, forcibly displacing more than two million civilians, mostly of the same ethnicity as the armed opposition groups, as a counter-insurgency strategy. After a Darfur Peace Agreement in 2006 failed to gain support of most of the SLA and JEM, these armed groups split into many different factions. There have been numerous attempts to unify these groups, often as a prelude to further peace talks, and some factions have unified, but Abdel Wahed Mohammed Nur, the founder of the SLA in 2003, has consistently refused to hold talks with other SLA factions. Abdel Wahed Mohammed Nur now lives in Paris, but continues to have support on the ground particularly in eastern Jebel Marra and among many displaced living in camps.
RECOMMENDED ACTION: Although Abdel Wahed Mohammed Nur lives in Paris his address, fax, and email are not known. Therefore we are asking you to send brief text messages giving your name and country and saying: "Release detainees from Ain Siro" or similar; - We are also giving the satellite phone number of the commander who is holding the 17 people detained.
