George W Bush may be backed by Christian fundamentalists but in his home state of Texas, Islam is the latest big draw.
Eric was a Baptist preacher before he became a Muslim 14 years ago. Now he prays five times a day – even in the middle of watching a football game. His wife, Karen, also a convert, is covered from head to toe in the traditional Muslim Clothes. Islam, says Eric, ‘is everything I wanted Christianty to be’. His mother has found it hard to come to terms with her son’s conversion and believes he will return to the Christan faith: ‘Then he will be a dynamic preacher.’ Eric says: ‘Maybe some day she’ll embrace Islam.’

Women are also becoming followers of Islam. Yasmine (previously Mindy) arranged a marriage for herself and has three children. Islam, she says is ‘the solution to a lot of the prevailing evils: drugs, adultery, fornication…’
Converts often see the religious laws more clearly than those who have been brought up as Muslims
and Yasmine can spot a mistake at 20 paces. She believes that she has a unique opportunity to help people who are born into the religion get back to the fundamentals.
Catherine has been a Muslim for two weeks. She came from a privileged background – private school followed by a career in PR. Now the established Muslim women guide her through the purification rituals as she washes before prayer and removes her nail varnish.
David is the only white Muslim in his little town on Route 66. He believes his new religion makes him a better American and, far from undermining liberties, gives the individual more rights. He had an arranged marriage and his wife, who was born a Muslim, was shocked by the strictness with which he insists they live their lives. His family – a white man with his wife and daughter dressed in their hijabs (headscarves) –are stared in the streets and supermarkets of their one-horse town.
There are 400,000 Muslims in Texas alone and Islam is the fastest growing religion in the USA. Since 9/11 there have been more converts to Islam than ever. Eric believes that people are trying to understand Muslims and want to learn about their religion. Yasmine says: ‘America should not be afraid. If it would be better Muslims were the majority. If a child asks me: “Who made this leaf?” I say, “Allah. Allah made everything.”’

لقد كتبت في مداخلتي أعلاه ما قالته الأخت ياسمين بأن المتحولين للإسلام غالباً ما يكونون أكثر تمسكاً وعملاً بقواعد الدين وهو ما يعني ابتعادهم عن العادة والموروث الثقافي المحلي للمسلم إلى لب الإسلام وأساس نهجه بعيداً عن الطائفية بعيداً عن الصراعات الحزبية بعيداً عن الإستغلال بل وتريد ياسمين أن تساعد من ولدوا على الإسلام لإعادة اكتشاف الغسلام من جديد والعودة لمنهج السلف الصالح وتعاليم عهد النبوة

The World Christian Encyclopedia estimates that, within the United States, there may be as many as twenty thousand converts from Islam to Christianity every year.[1] Additionally, Aljazeera suggests that in Africa, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity every year.[2]

If we look at both religions , Islam is only religion that kills it's apostates , I don't understad why they call it a religion of peace when they behead a person only if they leave Islam , and then , Frankly posts how thousands of Americans convert to Christianity , Those uneducated people only saw the westernized Islam , I bet if they flew to Islamic countries to see how the Christians and non-Muslims are treated they will run on a one way street. I lived in the US and Muslims try to spread this unrealistic view of Islam , and deni any relation with Islam with any bloody killing taking place.
In canada , som Mosques give 100 dollars for non-Muslims to come over , Saudi Arabia are continuosly buying land and building Mosques to spread Islam , they practising something they will never offer , freedom of religion , not a single Church is located in KSA , and they build a mosque after the other , it's truly disghusting. What is funny though , is the claim of some Muslims that if anyone converts to Christianity they do it for money , when Mosques here and everywhere give out money and Muslims who convert to Christianity are being persecuted everyday.

Ghorban Tourani
Ghorban Dordi Tourani (1952 - 22nd November 2005), also called Ghorban Tori(قربان دردى تورانى in Persian), was an Iranian Christian lay-minister. He lived and worked in Gonbad-e Qabus, Golestan province, Iran.
Tourani, an Iranian Turkmen, was brought up as Sunni Muslim, but converted to the Christian faith in the mid 1990s during a stay in Turkmenistan. After his return to Iran he rapidly established a Christian ministry and a house church amongst his compatriots in his predominantly Islamic home town.
Following multiple threats of death he was abducted and murdered on the 22nd November 2005.
His murder followed the even more widely publicised arrest and trial[1] [2] of the Iranian Christian convert and lay minister Hamid Pourmand for apostasy by the Iranian authorities. His death, the first murder of a pastor after several years, was a major point of escalation in the renewed persecution of Christian converts from Islam in Iran and the small but growing house church movement.

المشكلة في هذا الخبر والأخبار الأخرى المتعلقة به إنه يفتقد إلى عنصر خبري مهم جداً وهو الفترة الزمنية
يعني القول بأن 20000 يتحولون من الإسلام للمسيحية بدون ضلبط الوقت لا يعطي الخبر أي مصداقية
فمنذ متى بدأ هذا التحول وكم عدد المتحولون إلى المسيحية من الإسلام الأن في الولايات المتحدة؟
هل هم مليون مليونين عشرة ملايين أم كم عددهم
ثم مثل هذه الأخبار والتي لا أستطيع أن اكذبها لكنها لا تعني أن في الجانب الأخر هناك تحوّل من المسيحية إلى الإسلام ومن الوسط الجامعي ومن كبار رجال الكنيسة والعارفين بالمسيحية
والشاهد على ذلك هي التقارير المحايدة التي ترصد ذلك

كما قلت سابقاَ العكس هو الصحيح فأغلب المتحولين للإسلام من المسيحية واليهودية هم من المتعلمين والمتعلمين جداً بل الكثير منهم دكاترة ومحاضرين وطلاب في مراحل متقدمة والكثير منهم رجال دين مسيحي سابقين وحتى من هم غير متعلمين لا يعني أنهم دخلوا هذا الدين مرغمين فكما لم يكن عدم تعليمهم حائلاً بينهم وبين كونهم مسيحيين فلن يكون حائلاً بين كونهم مسلمين
وليس هناك شيئ اسمه إسلام متغرّب أو إسلام غربي فالإسلام واحد ومصدره واحد ونبيه ورسوله واحد
وهؤلاء المتحولين لا يعيشون في أدغال الأمزون حتى لا يعلموا ما يحدث في بقاع العالم الأخرى
فاليوم الحديث عن كوننا لا نعلم ما يحدث في الشرق الأوسط مجرد هراء مع الثورة المعلوماتية التي يشهدها العالم
والتحول الكبير الذي تشهده أميريكا تجاه الإسلام لا يمكن لأحد أن ينكره فهو أمر واقع وحادث
وتحوّل بعض المسلمين من الإسلام إلى اللادينية أو العلمانية أو الإلحادية أو أي ديانة أخرى حادث ولا يمكن نكرانه
فليفرح كل منّا بالمنتسبين الجدد لدينه

هو أمر فات عليك فلا يمكن أن نقول أن الجزب الجمهوري يفوز بمائة مقد كل سنة
لا بد من أن نحدد فترة زمنية لهذا الحدث وهو شيء اساسي في أي خبر
يعني لابد أن نقول من تفجيرات نوفمبر 2001 دخل في الإسلام 35000 مسلم جديد في أميريكا
ولا يمكن أن نقول يتحول 5000 سنوياً إلى الإسلام في أميريكا فلابد من ذكر الفترة الزمنية للخبر

أنه من دواعي فرحنا وغبطتنا أن الإسلام أكثر الأديان انتشاراً في العالم، وهذا هو أقوى وأرجح أسباب حقد أعداء الدين عليه! فكم رجل وأمرأة في أسيا وإفريقيا وأوروبا والأمريكيتين واسترالياً وجدوا ضالتهم المنشودة في الإسلام بعد أن ضلّت بهم السبل في للتعرف على الخالق الحق وشرعه الأحق أن يتبع.
فما نراه اليوم في عالمن من محاولات تشويه وتشكيك في الإسلام ومعتقداته هي نفسها التي تدفع بالكثيرين للتعرف أكثر على هذا الدين القويم
وهذا هو وعد الله بإتمام نوره ولو كره الكافرون
