شعب جنوب السودان يجب الآن أن تعيش مع الحقيقة بأنّ لن يكون هناك إستفتاء عام على الوحدة أو الإفتراق بحلول شهر يناير/كانون ثاني تاسعا، 2011.
هذه الفرضية مستندة على الحقيقتين : واحد، الطريق إلى الإستفتاء العام قاسية و فقط على زعيم يتنبأ على القيادة لتخطيط الطريق. هذا النوع من القيادة تفتقر إليه الحركة بشدة في الوقت الحاضر. إثنان، هناك معلومات عامة الآن التي زعيم SPLM الدّكتور الراحل. جون Garang ذبح من قبل محتكري المال والقوّة.
بكلمات أخرى، أولئك الذين رأوه كتهديد إلى قوّتهم؛ أولئك الذين أرادوا قوّته؛ سويّة مع القتلة تحت الطلب للمال، إنضمّ سوية لإنهاء حياته، ومعه إتّفاقية السلام الشاملة . الآن تلك المرحلة إحدى الخطط التي أنجزها قتلة جون قرنق، الإحتكار تمزّق الحركة الشعبية بشدّة كجزء من مرحلة ثانية ، إستهدف تحطيم إتفاقية السلام بإسلوب منظّم لكن فطن.
في هذه القضية الأولى للسودان اليوم، طريقة عمل الإحتكار ستكون غير مغطّاة لمنفعة الشعب السوداني عموما وسودانيي الجنوب بشكل خاص.
