That is the Old Fashion Democracy, It didnot work in the past and it will not ganna work now in sudan or in this board, that old fashion who create oll the problems in southren and westren sudan.

Thank you for the reply to my comments and for patience to write back. I am sorry to tell you what are saying is rather what can be described as "wishful thinking only". Democracy is democracy whether it is old fashioned or new fashion. Differences within a democratic system are settled through the ballout box and the results are accepted regardless of whoever wins the elections. Even if all the elected ones are all northern Sudanese then it will be that way and sorry for the minorities.

Now let us get to the example of the US that you have mentioned. Yes the bimbo Rice is rather selected by the president and not elected. It is UP and at the DISCRETION of the elected leader to choose his cabinet or executive body from all ethnic groups in his society. Now notice this discretion thing, the leader can also choose NOT to do that and choose from any group which see fitting his planned political goals.
There is nothing NOTHING in a deomcracy that says you have to choose people from any certain group or that you have to diversify your executive body. It is out of ONLY niceness to do that but certainly NOT a MUST DO thing.

The key issues for minorities within a democractic society are the equal human rights along with the majority and respect for their culture, language and religion. That is to say they have equal rights when it comes to expression of opinion, practice of religion and language in a similar manner as the majority groups. Case closed. This is democracy and liberties as it is known an practiced. Do not call for democracy and then at the same time kill it. Nobody should selected for an office just because he belongs to a certain ethnic or religous group. Choice is based on elections and voting which are based on political programs.

I hope I made clear the issue of democracy and minorities. Should minorities in Sudan not find this appleaing they are welcomed to seperate, form their own societies and then become the majority and do what other majorities do
