The Sudanese vice president launches on shuttle trips around the globe, aiming to merchandise himself as being a man of peace and to advertise the obnoxious views of the brutal regime as being peaceful. In his trips, Taha considers Dr. Garang as his savior from the long arm of justice. Under direct command of Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, Sudanese force and Janjawid gang have committed and are still committing most horrific war crimes, crimes against humanity and have deliberately waged systematic and organized ethnic cleansing campaign against the innocent people of Darfur.
The peace deal in the southern Sudan would not have been possible if and only if the international community put less pressure on the brutal regime of Khartoum. We, the Darfurians in Diaspora and The Federation of Darfur Associations in EU profoundly deplore that such person of high criminal profile is being allowed to lecture about federalism and to advocate for peace on any international forum in the EU capital and in front of the people of respect and decency.
We therefore would like to elucidate that:
1) The international community, at the time of peace celebrations in the south, should not neglect and forget that the innocent people of Darfur are still under the mercy of the regime which its force and proxy janjawid militia are still carrying on ethnic cleansing.
2) The international community should not let the situation in Darfur exacerbate more dramatically than what is now. Ali Osman Taha is still loose from the hand of justice. The Khartoum regime, instead of disarming, has increased the quota of arms to its proxcy Janjawid militia to perpetuate their policy of eradicating Darfur from black Darfurians.
3) The international community should not keep silent while thousands of Darfurians have arbitrarily been detained and are being brutally tortured.
4) The international community should accelerate bringing the perpetrators, mentioned in the list of 51, to the international criminal court. Ali Osman Taha is unquestionably at the top of the list.
5) The international community should not be rewarding offenders of humanity and human values by allowing them to promote themselves as peace alliances as has been the case with Ali Osma M. Taha.
6) The international community has to meet its historical responsibilities towards the people of Darfur by providing adequate protection from extinction after an unequivocal failure of AU. Despite the presence of AU force, air raids, rapes, mass killings and displacements are minute to minute business logic of the Khartoum regime.

Therefore, we joint our voice with that of UN secretary-general that NATO and Europe should play a leading and decisive role in ending the ongoing ethnic cleansing in Darfur.
