Smile……There is a lot to be covered by Jamal Aldeen Alagarabi

    Jamal Aldeen Alagarabi
A few of us are optimists. The sun rises here but not as in Honolulu, Berlin, Rome, the mother of churches, London , the city of fog or Athens, the mother of civilization . We claim that Europe is the advancement and technology. We, the Africans are up-coming decision –makers. The sun rises from here from these dark skins.
Life isn't measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that we value and our hope. That is our actual faith and belief that things will get better and worse ones retreat quicker than anticipated. One moment of value to me is posing for a nice shot in which we smiled together in an early morning on the bank of Nile.
Iam the son of merchant from Eastern Sudan. My dream of being journalist has become a reality. I work as a correspondent for the Sudanese Rowing and Canoe Federation which lies close to the Nile river. The beautiful river with its cool breezes , for me , it provides the sense of relaxation and a chance for healing some of my wounds over an inevitable cup of coffee with a friend. Once I met accidentally Valerie Reynolds who is an American politician and accredited diplomat in Sudan. She appreciated the generosity and originality of Sudan. In my professional tour, I always catch up the smell of coffee and evening tea a round the Nile. I have been to Shendi,250 north of Khartoum for the media coverage of second tourism festival there. I have also been to the Northern state to explore the historical relics in many archeological Islands along the Nile river. They are part of Sudanese culture, history and heritage.
During my work in Khartoum, I conducted an interview with Zakaria Al mahmoud on his visit to Khartoum in his capacity as an expert of International Kayak and Canoe Federation. I have participated in short films that promote school nutrition ,tourism and rowing activities in Khartoum and other African cities. My next report is going to be about a marathon rowing challenge of 210KM from Wad Medani to Khartoum. The journey is long but I have never lost my patience in my Mandela-like long walk. I can wait and work hard. In consolation I say to my smile.......there is a lot be covered

A another smile in a morning spent on the Nile bank with Melaiji, my gentle and affectionate uncle.
