The US expresses concern over escalation of violence in Darfur

Khartoum-The United States of America has expressed deep concern over the escalation of violence due to the attacks being launched by the government forces, allied militias and the armed movements.
The spokesperson of the US State Department has said in a statement that the reports said that unknown armed group has attacked a displaced camp in Khor Abachi area in the 22nd of March..

The statement said that the pro government rapid support forces has launched attacks on 16 villages in north and south Darfur and killed and kidnapped a number of civilians in these villages during the period from 15 to 17 of March.

The statement expressed concern over the reports that government air forces have bombed number of villages in east Jebel Marra injuring a number of civilians and displacing more than 15.000 others.
The statement said that similar reports have pointed to the participation of elements from Justice and Equality movement, Sudan Liberation Movements of Abdel-Wahid Nour and Minawi ,and urged all parties to stop violence immediately.
