Parliament considers ratifying international agreement on anti-corruption

Khartoum-Legal experts and human rights activists have called for moving Sudan from article 10 which authorizes technical assistance to article 4 that allows monitoring in the coming meetings of human rights council in September, and naming special rapporteur fir human rights in Sudan. The human rights situations in Sudan are declining, saying that the situation poses remarkable concern for the international community.

Experts have expected the return of under article 4 in the coming meetings of human rights council in September, and attributed this to the continuous human rights violations in South Kordofan, Blue Nile and Darfur, using live ammunition against demonstrators in Khartoum, arresting big numbers, confiscating and closing down newspapers and summoning journalists ousts.

Legal expert and human rights activist Saleh Mahmoud told the Citizen that there are clear facts that there is no point for putting Sudan under article 10 along with presence of independent human rights expert, urging the Human Rights Council to put Sudan back under article 4 and appoint human rights observer.
